- Invite family and friends to the Facebook group. The algorithm works against the cause of depolarization, so maintaining a diversity of perspectives requires a grass roots effort within the group.
- Introduce me to your pastor. Faith communities have a critical role to play in depolarizing America. I've got several solutions currently in R&D for faith community leaders looking to restore unity in their churches and in the broader community. Connecting with pastors is stupendously helpful for me!
- Share the newsletter and/or this page with family and friends who aren't on Facebook. They'll be able to watch video recordings, and stay up to date on in-person events (whenever it's pandemically safe to do so).
ABOUT THE WORD "CONSPIRATOR"
Conspire is a powerful word. It is a life giving word. The latin root "spir" means breathe.
There is a huge temptation, in our polarized world, to see the magnitude of the pain and the need around us, and to give into the urge to commiserate. To share misery. To actively spread misery, hate, resentment, fear... in the name of love or camaraderie.
That's not what we do here. :)
We do not commiserate, we conspire.
This is a place for sharing the simple, life giving power of breath. We must breathe continuously. Life isn't sustained in one breath alone! This is a place where we can turn when we're out of breath. When the bickering, and arguing and pressing against the perceived enemy has exhausted us down to the soul.
Here is where we turn to be reminded of our shared humanity. Here is where we turn for creative solutions; for encouragement, fresh perspectives and support.
When we conspire, we share breath. We share inspiration. (..there's that spir again!) We make the continuation of life possible.
That's what we're about.
