HRCI APPROVED:

5.5 RECERTIFICATION CREDITS

This is a 5 week live, online program designed for empathetic owners, leaders and/or HR team members who:
  • Are planning for significant growth or change in their company
  • Are committed to navigating this change without growing away from their vision for culture, their intentions for employee experience or their identity (as an organization or as an individual!)
  • Are ready to stop spinning their wheels waiting for everyone to get on board, and start implementing some simple, zero-cost yet deeply impactful strategies for improving culture and group cohesion.

IT STARTS WITH YOU.

You’ll learn very practical and highly effective processes you can start implementing independently for:
  1. Getting (and staying) in alignment with who you really are as a leader, and your vision for culture & employee experience
  2. Gaining cultural continuity across departments (despite differences in leadership style)
  3. Working well alongside teammates you didn't choose
  4. Giving feedback and effectively coaching team members; additional teaching on how to do this with team members who are feedback-resistant or who struggle with mental health
  5. Leading despite differences... even significant differences in communication style, values and lived experiences
  6. Creating true emotional safety, inclusivity and belonging on a diverse team
  7. Solicitation of actually helpful feedback from your team, and how to receive & learn from hurtful feedback
  8. Building authority naturally and gaining momentum without power struggles or the need to "force" team members into alignment
  9. Being the torch bearer of mission, vision and culture despite the day-to-day hustle of growth
  10. Avoiding overwhelm and burnout or recovering if you're already overwhelmed and burnt out

SIMPLE THINGS CAN MAKE A BIG

DIFFERENCE

MANY leaders indicate that the struggle to "sell it internally" is the reason their culture initiatives fall through.

But the long term success of your company depends on whether or not you can motivate your team, retain really fantastic employees and equip them to work together effectively.

We "launch" products and companies... but too often the rocket takes off and the people who built it are left hanging on for dear life, getting dragged behind in the blaze, and barely keeping up with the force of upward movement. Over time they start adding to the weight and drag instead of the momentum.

This is frustrating to leaders because of the delicate thrust versus drag balance, and frustrating to employees because they feel stuck in a raging inferno.

It's a shame to get burned by your own rocket, or to let the people trusting your leadership get burned. It's a double shame when you knew it would happen if you didn't take action preemptively, but the excitement and pressures of the launch experience distracted you from the most important things.

Growth is GOOD. But you don't want to be riding the path of success behind a rocket... and neither do any of your team members.

There are simple strategies that will help you stay focused on what matters most, and ensure that your astronauts are adequately equipped to contribute to the momentum instead of the drag. That's what this program is all about.

STRUCTURE

This program is highly interactive - and in the true spirit of collaboration (and emerging curriculum), the questions and struggles submitted by the group will greatly shape the direction of the course, since it will be tailored to meet your specific needs.

Each Week: You’ll receive a preview of upcoming lesson content via email Monday morning, and link to submit initial questions about the content. It’s anonymous so, really submit what you don’t understand -- your deepest concerns about empathetic leadership, building authority, connecting with difficult people: whatever it is!

Sign up for the hot seat that week - If the week's topic especially resonates, please volunteer to take one of the hot seat spots!  You'll explain what the situation is: give us background info & then get personalized feedback and suggestions. There will be up to 3 hot seat spots available each week.

Session Structure: There are 5 one-hour sessions. Each session will be hosted through Zoom and will follow this structure:
  • Leadership Lesson guided by slides
  • Submitted questions will be answered
  • Hot seat interviews
  • Recap of core concepts
  • Implementation Assignment
  • After each session, you’ll be sent a link where you can provide anonymous feedback, and ask any questions about what you've just heard.

*Sessions will be recorded, and you’ll have online access to slides used, handouts and session recordings

The spring cohort begins on 4.8.2020.

Private Enrollment: To inquire about one-on-one guidance through the program for a completely personalized coaching experience, schedule time on my calendar here. There is a $50 fee for this 30-minute conversation. It is nonrefundable, but it will be credited toward your enrollment in either a private program or an upcoming group cohort.
Corporate Group Enrollment: Contact me directly.  Enrolling multiple people is beneficial due to the development of a shared language around confrontation, collaboration and other critical leadership functions. If a company enrolls 2 or 3 people into a Group Cohort, you'll get a 10% discount on each enrollment. If you've got 4 or more, we'll build your own cohort. Contact me directly for details and logistics.
